Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center
This ministry cares for Central Virginia women who find themselves needing resources to cope with unplanned pregnancies. The ministry seeks to meet emotional, physical, and spiritual needs to empower women to choose life. Services include counseling, referral, support, maternity and baby clothing. The aim is to provide real, workable alternatives to abortion.
New Direction Ministry at Amherst County Jail
Provides support for ministry in the Amherst County Jail. The Rev. Mr. Fordys Arnold has established a full time ministry to inmates, the Sheriff, Deputies, and their families.

Scouting: Troop 37
We are glad to be able to assist the scout troop that we support and hold the charter for. The Troop has grown tremendously over the past two years to almost 30 boys. The Cub Pack has recently been revitalized and has a good attendance as well.
Amherst County Habitat for Humanity
ACHFH seeks to make it possible for families who might not otherwise be able to afford owning their own homes to do so. Through a strenuous screening process, a family is chosen and volunteer labor builds the home. Then the home is sold to the family at a much-reduced monthly payment. The family chosen also helps with the labor (sweat equity).
Volunteer Emergency Families for Children
VEFC recruits and trains area families to provide short-term family care to children who need a place to stay due to difficult family circumstances. Your Board of Deacons is enthusiastic about including VEFC in our Benevolence Budget because it is one more "home missions" endeavor of our church.
Presbyterian Home of Lynchburg
Provides long term residency and care for children and teens who, for various reasons, need to be taken out of their own family home environment.
Helping Hands
Helping Hands is a local mission sponsored by the Monelison Ministerial Association. The purpose of the program is to provide food, heat, clothing, and monetary assistance to needy families in our area. Presbyterian Home is a well established ministry to provide a ministry of healing and nurturing to individuals and their families. The ministry manifests itself in preventive, rehabilitative, and specialized services within the context of Christian faith.
