D. Barrett Tucker - Barry - began his ministry at EPC on January 1, 1986.
Barry, a native of South Hill Virginia, has a BS in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University; and a post - graduate degree with a Master of Divinity degree (1981) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts.
He was ordained in May 1982 as a candidate out of the South Hill, VA Presbyterian Church to serve as pastor to a two church church field near Farmville, VA - the Appomattox PE Presbyterian Church and the Jamestown Presbyterian Church. After serving there for three and half years, he accepted the call to become pastor of EPC.
Barry is married (January 1981) to Kathryn Anne Pickett, a daughter of Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Lynchburg Virginia. Barry and Kathryn have three sons:
David, born in 1983, is married to McKinley Goad of Lynchburg, VA.
Jonathan, born in 1986 - currently studying at Montreat College.
Benjamin, born in 1991 - currently enrolled at Central Virginia Community College
