As we endeavor to carry out this mission, we regularly worship God;
we teach and learn the faith
we provide opportunities for growth in Christian love and maturity as individuals, as families, and as a community of believers
we seek to minister to the specific needs of all, inside and outside our faith community; and we provide the financial and material systems to to carry out this mission.
In humble reliance on the Holy Spirit, we do this to the best of our ability under the authority of Scripture to the end that God be glorified and all people be called to discipleship in Jesus Christ.
We believe this ties in faithfully with our denomination’s excellent statement in our constitution of what we understand to be the great ends of the church …
The great ends of the church are:
- the proclamation of the gospel for the salvation of humankind;
- the shelter, nurture, and spiritual fellowship of the children of God;
- the maintenance of divine worship;
- the preservation of the truth;
- the promotion of social righteousness; and
- the exhibition of the Kingdom of Heaven to the world.
