a family of believers seeking to live out the truth of the Gospel to the community and the world

We are a member congregation of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church worshipping and witnessing within the classical Reformed Tradition.

We seek, in all our life together and outreach, to be joyously obedient to Jesus Christ. Throughout our history Elon Presbyterian Church has sought to stand for, proclaim and demonstrate the Good News of Jesus Christ as it is revealed in Scripture. Over the years we have believed, without reservation, that the Bible is the Word of God, the only infallible rule of faith and practice.

The officers and pastor of Elon Church gladly and enthusiastically stand for and proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ who is the same yesterday, today and forever. We seek to apply God’s truth and God’s claim, in Jesus Christ, upon our lives, to our particular time and place.

Our theological position is best described as being orthodox and traditionally reformed.

We believe that we are here:
• to worship and obey God
• to proclaim, in word and deed, the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit
• to invite people to trust in follow Christ, be incorporated into his church, grow in obedience to him, and become involved in responsible love for and service to the world.

We believe that our worship should be centered on the Triune God: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The primary means God has provided for us to worship him is the preaching and hearing of his Word. The same Word of God that is written in the Scriptures is made visible in the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We are committed to living out the truth of Jesus Christ in all our human relationships.
We enjoy a warm, caring fellowship with one another.

Taking seriously the Great Commission of Jesus Christ, we offer a growing outreach to our immediate neighborhood and county and to the world-at-large. We seek to do this by the proclamation of the gospel to the lost, by various ministries to all sorts of human need in the name of Christ, and by supporting a number of national and international mission efforts.
